Konkamoya Lodge
Konkamoya in the Nyanja language means "Follow the wind". Who follows the Konkamoya wind knows that they can find a surprise behind every small bush, as well as finding a lake that promises new horizons.
Set in a unique location in the Kafue National Park is roughly a 4 hour drive from both Lusaka and from Victoria Falls, Konkamoya Lodge sits on the shores of the Itezhi-Tezhi Lake. As the only lodge on the lake, it's one of the most glorious spots for any wildlife lover to discover, presenting you with an intimate and exclusive safari experience.
The birdwatching along the lake is a paradise for bird enthusiasts with Kafue's close to 500 species. Morning, afternoon, and evening game drives provide you with the opportunity to meet 4 of the Big 5 including lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo. There's also a chance of seeing other wildlife such as cheetah, wild dog, and pangolin. It's at nightfall that you'll get the opportunity to continue your adventure with a late-night game drive to catch a rare sighting of the elusive Aardvark. Konkamoya’s position on the lake also makes it an excellent spot for guided boat trips, bush walks, and fishing.
The interiors are apartment-like, with a netted double bed (that can be converted into a twin), a small lounge and stylish African fabrics. All have en-suite showers, toilet and basin with solar-heated hot and cold running water. Konkamoya's main area is built in the traditional Zambian communal area style. Here's where you'll enjoy International, Zambian and Italian specialties prepared by their talented chefs daily.
