It's just far away enough from the hustle and bustle to offer a quiet and rustic stay. Perfect if you want to be close to the action but still want to enjoy a rural environment.
Pioneer is surrounded by miombo woodland, ideal for serene nature walks, especially if you're an avid bird watcher. Are you interested in unlocking the magic of Zambia but not sure where to start or how to get there? Then, Pioneer Lodge, Camp and Safaris is heaven sent! Their mobile safaris cover the whole of Zambia, enabling guests to explore the many wonders of this diverse and beautiful country.
Tell them what you want to experience and they'll tailor-make the safaris of a lifetime for you and up to three of your safari mates. Fancy a day in the big city? Lusaka is as busy and bustling as any other city with shopping centres, cinemas, cafes and restaurants. Lusaka also has several craft markets featuring a variety of traditional items, fabrics, carvings and general souvenirs. On the west side of the city is the popular Kabwata cultural village, which showcases handmade goods by local carpenters and craftsmen. Pioneer can arrange rides to the city and back at your leisure.
Set in 25 acres of miombo woodland, Pioneer's eight thatched miombo chalets have comfortable twin or queen beds, with mosquito nets, and en-suite bathrooms. Each chalet varies slightly but all have a small seating area, space for your luggage, a fan, blankets for colder evenings, and charging points.
Larger groups can be accommodated in the two-bedroomed Family Cottage that can sleep up to six people. It comes with a large veranda, kitchen, dining area and living area. Pioneer also has smaller budget-friendly en-suite chalets; as well as two thatched tents with shared washroom facilities. Have your own tent? They have ten individual camp sites with braai stands, fire pits and a communal washroom block. Campers are welcome to self-cater in the campsite or choose to dine in Pioneer's bar and restaurant. The restaurant and bar, stocked with a great selection of soft drinks, beer, and spirits, are located in the lodge's main area. There you'll also find plenty of outdoor seating with a swimming pool, sun loungers, and a TV viewing area. Pioneer has a simple yet satisfying menu. Enjoy vegetarian options, various pasta dishes, or try the famous Pioneer T-bone steak.
